ABC has taken the talents of the people behind Beavis and Butthead (no, no... we're not in the business of judging talent) and King of the Hill (ditto) to create a cartoon about a family trying hard to be good. Trying to be green. Trying to be good stewards of the earth. And not necessarily getting it right.
The creators say the time is right for a show that uses humor to address how difficult it can be to be good... and to laugh a little at the guilt that goes along with consumerism.
They're a hybrid-driving, organic-cotton-wearing, vegan couple whose vegetarian dog chases down squirrels and rabbits in his thirst for flesh... who tried to adopt an African child to help the over-population problem and found themselves the parents of a white South African, who moved into a diverse neighborhood only to find their neighbors' diversity is only skin deep ... and they are alone in their values. They keep forgetting their reusable shopping bag, so they keep buying more reusable shopping bags. Talk about angst!
ABC will air the first episode on Wednesday May 27. Watch a preview/interview
