"Fed Up: School Lunch Project" is a daring venture that one Illinois school teacher has taken on to show us exactly what it is we are feeding our kids in the public school system.
An excerpt: "Day 16: Today's menu: Peanut Butter and jelly graham cracker sandwich, apple juice, fruit cup (peaches), milk. I could barely eat this meal so I didn't. And then I was deliriously ravenous driving to get my little one. And then it got worse. (...) Um, I 'tossed my cookies.' I can't say what exactly did it. Whether it was the lunch (I only are half of one sandwich) or the not eating enough. (...) I noticed a LOT of kids with packed lunches today. Maybe they knew something I didn't."
This brave woman plans on following this gruesome diet for the entire year. Let's hope her heroism pays off and the school lunch reform that is so badly needed will come soon. Surely Mrs Obama is following this blog?
